What happens

Private detective Philip Marlowe is hired by Stanley Tana to recover his late wife's platinum wristwatch, set with emeralds and inscribed with a loving anniversary message. The watch disappeared after Mrs. Tana died of a heart attack in their Beverly Hills garage, and Mr. Tana believes it is somewhere in Camino Beach. Marlowe begins his search at this small oceanside town, tracking down leads through pawn shops and local contacts.
