What happens

Private detective Philip Marlowe is hired by a Philadelphia law firm to locate a man named Buff Ryan and inform him of a $5,000 inheritance from a woman named Julie Leader. Ryan hasn't been seen in six months at his last known address in East Los Angeles. Marlowe's investigation leads him to a mysterious blonde woman who appears to have a personal connection to Ryan and works as a dancer at a burlesque house downtown.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
