What happens

Nero Wolfe is hired by Theodore Olifant, a self-styled religious leader, who fears for the life of Ilsa Dana, a wealthy socialite he is in love with. Wolfe and Archie Goodwin return from the office to find Dana strangled in her apartment. Olifant, Basil Young and boxer Jack Hunter all had reasons to resent her, and each is questioned in Wolfe's library. The New Adventures of Nero Wolfe series, with Sydney Greenstreet in the title role, is shown here in its 1950 episode Dear Dead Lady, broadcast on November 3, 1950.

Characters: Nero Wolfe, Archie Goodwin, Theodore Olifant, Ilsa Dana, Basil Young, Jack Hunter, Mr. Hasbrouck

Listen for: Wolfe's line 'Have you prayed tonight?' and the question of who wrote the threatening postcard

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
