What happens
Nero Wolfe is approached about a murder at a Manhattan men's club, but the case soon centers on painter Clay Michelson, whose marriage has collapsed and who is drinking heavily. Archie Goodwin, Wolfe's assistant, tracks the investigation through the club, the artist's suite and his wife's apartment, where jealousy, a missing flask and a cleaning woman's death draw the police and suspicion toward several people. Sidney Greenstreet stars in this episode of the New Adventures of Nero Wolfe, a transcribed radio drama, and the original air date given is November 17, 1950.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
