What happens

Millionaire Fred Vincent Liggett hires detective George Valentine after writing a suspicious letter accusing his wife of plotting against him. When Liggett is found dead, apparently poisoned with medicine mixed at the local drugstore, suspicion falls on Mrs. Liggett—especially since she regularly picked up prescriptions for her husband and has been seen socially with the town doctor, Everett Nichols. George must untangle the web of small-town gossip and hidden motives to discover who really poisoned the wealthy man.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
