What happens

George Valentine is hired by a nervous young man named Wally Brooks to investigate a mysterious heavy-set man in a green hat who has threatened him and is apparently following a woman named Lucy. George discovers that Lucy is a theatrical dancer living in an upscale apartment building, but things become complicated when he encounters what appears to be two different women with the same name and face.

A city drugstore, a fancy apartment building, and Lucy's apartment, with references to theatrical engagements and nightclubs.

Characters: George Valentine, Wally Brooks, Lucy, Audrey, The man in the green hat

Listen for: The clever twist involving identical-looking women and mistaken identity, George's encounters with two versions of the same person, and the explanation of a theatrical shadow dancing act.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
