What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called to his boss Dorfman's office to explain his expense account for the Martin case investigation. Before they can finish their discussion, Sergeant Bell arrives with a bombshell: Johnny's own gun has turned up at police headquarters, and he's being arrested on suspicion of murdering contractor Alfred W. Barriman, a case Johnny didn't even know about.
