What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives in Los Angeles to investigate a series of six fires on properties owned by elderly millionaire Alpheus Brockway. Insurance adjuster Ted Olof is convinced Brockway is committing arson to collect insurance on worthless buildings while retaining the valuable land beneath them. Johnny agrees to investigate, but suspects the case may be more complicated than it appears on the surface.
