What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is approached by Orrin Vance, a man he sent to prison seven years earlier for a clothing company swindle. Vance claims he has information about the Todd burglary, a case involving stolen jewelry and a mink coat from Long Island that has gone unsolved for six months. Vance provides a lead pointing to Gloria Tierney in New York City, but when Dollar arrives to meet her, he finds her apartment dark and empty.
New York City and Wilmington, Delaware, 1956. The story begins in Dollar's office, moves through phone calls to Delaware, and culminates at an apartment building on East 57th Street in Manhattan.
Characters: Johnny Dollar, Orrin Vance, Don Freed, Gloria Tierney, Ethel Stromberg
Listen for: The developing mystery of the stolen mink coat and its connection to Gloria Tierney. Watch for the tension between Dollar and the ex-convict Vance, and the unanswered question of where Gloria has gone after calling Dollar to arrange a meeting.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
