What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives at a young woman's apartment for a late-night meeting, but she is shot three times by an unknown gunman in a black Cadillac before they can talk. Dollar is questioned by Sergeant Mapes about his investigation into the Todd burglary case and his connection to the victim, Gloria Tierney, whose stolen mink coat was recovered at the scene.
