What happens
Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator for Master's Insurance and Trust in Hartford, is sent to Los Angeles to look into an unusual request. Cynthia Durbin, a young society woman, wants a $200,000 straight life policy on her husband Peter, with herself as beneficiary, and insists the policy be kept a surprise. Working with the company's local agent Roger Hacky, Johnny meets Cynthia, her attorney Crane Collins, and the couple's household. Each encounter raises new questions about Cynthia's motives and her odd behavior. This is the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, a CBS Radio program first broadcast on September 1, 1957, starring Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
