What happens

Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator, travels to New Orleans to look for Tom Chase, a former junior partner who embezzled about $120,000 from his firm and vanished after jumping bail. A newspaper photograph of a man at a bar there resembles Chase, and Johnny visits the bar, where the blind trumpeter Pops Harker is among the regulars. A shady man named Freddie Quintana approaches Johnny, claiming to know where Chase is hiding and demanding $500 for the information. Johnny is unconvinced, and a letter Quintana produces seems to be in Chase's handwriting. The episode is from the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar radio series, first broadcast on CBS Radio on October 16, 1956, with Bob Bailey in the lead role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
