What happens
Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator for the Universal Adjustment Bureau, is assigned to find Thomas Chase, a junior partner at the New York investment firm of Everson and Chase. Chase has disappeared after jumping bail on charges of embezzling $120,000 from the firm's clients. Dollar speaks with the firm's senior partner, George Everson, who describes how Chase managed the scheme through handling growth-investment accounts. Dollar then has dinner with Chase's wife, Lola, who reports that her husband had become moody and secretive before his arrest. The episode is the first of nine in the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, originally broadcast on CBS Radio on October 15, 1956, with Bob Bailey in the lead role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
