What happens

Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator, is hired by Fred Wigley of the Southern Connecticut Water and Power Company to find Trudelin Barling, a young heiress who has run off to New York with two companions, Harvey Howard and Lucy Taylor. When Dollar reaches her Manhattan apartment, he finds Trudelin dead, killed by a blow from a bronze candlestick. Dollar calls in Lieutenant Randy Singer of homicide, and the two begin questioning Harvey and Lucy, who both had visited the apartment that day and both claim to have left it before she died. The episode is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar radio series, first broadcast on CBS Radio on July 5, 1959, starring Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
