What happens

Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator for the Greater Southwest Insurance Company, looks into a fishing matter at Lake Mojave. He notices a man named Otis Helman dropping heavy gang hooks into a deep cove, apparently trying to snag something from the bottom. Helman is a former convict, and Johnny begins to suspect a link to a missing man named Kirkman. Johnny rents skin-diving gear in Las Vegas and checks old maps of the area before the lake was filled. The episode is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, first broadcast on CBS Radio on July 12, 1959, starring Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
