What happens
Johnny Dollar, a freelance insurance investigator, is sent by his employer to North Hollywood to look into a missing missile. He finds the Smithwick Paint Remover Company is a front for a secret missile development firm, and its receptionist Gloria Snowden is nowhere to be found when he arrives. After a shooting at his motel, Johnny is given a tape recording of a high-speed radio code message that includes his own name, and he works to trace the transmitter behind it. The series is Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, and this episode aired on CBS Radio on October 25, 1959, with Bob Bailey in the lead role.

Characters: Johnny Dollar, George, Dr. Smithwick, Gloria Snowden, Jed Barnwell, Bob McKenny, Lt. Orloff
Listen for: The slowed-down tape recording of the high-speed code message and its translation
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
