What happens
Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator for the Intercoastal Maritime and Life Insurance Company, travels to the fishing village of Cod Harbor, Massachusetts, after broker Byron Kay reports threats against Meg McCarthy's restaurant, the Palace. The restaurant is insured for $15,000 and McCarthy for $25,000, and she believes rival restaurant owners want to burn her business. Dollar arrives on a Sunday to find the place closed, and McCarthy insists her rivals are responsible for earlier fires. He begins questioning her about the threats and her suspects. This is the first episode of the 1956 CBS Radio series Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, starring Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
