What happens

Johnny Dollar, a special investigator for the Universal Adjustment Bureau, looks into a life insurance claim after Howard Edwards is reported lost when his car went into the Hudson River near Kerrsferry. His wife Mary stands to collect a large payment, and the police believe the couple staged his disappearance because they were nearly broke. Dollar begins by questioning Sergeant Ben Wingler and then speaks with Mary Edwards, who describes her husband's invention and the plans that have since gone missing. The episode is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar radio series, first broadcast on CBS Radio on September 20, 1959, with Bob Bailey in the title role. Dollar's investigation takes him through the local police and the evidence at the scene.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
