What happens

Johnny Dollar investigates the death of Thomas Lamar in South Bend, Indiana. Lamar's adopted daughter Vani—whom Johnny met during a vacation in California—stands to inherit a million-and-a-half-dollar life insurance policy, but Lamar's friend Lawrence Comstock suspects foul play rather than natural causes. The evidence points toward Walter Marson, Lamar's personal secretary who recently married Vani, as a possible suspect with motive and opportunity.

South Bend, Indiana, with references to La Jolla, California and Chicago.

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Vani Lamar, Lawrence Comstock, Dr. Ed Wilson, Thomas Lamar (deceased), Walter Marson, Bonnie (Vani's friend or relation)

Listen for: The mystery of what rare poison may have killed Thomas Lamar, the strange power Walter Marson seems to hold over Vani, and whether Lamar's death was truly murder or something else entirely.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
