What happens

Johnny Dollar, a private investigator posing as a filling station operator, is vacationing at an exclusive seaside resort hotel in Southern California. He meets and quickly falls for Rani Lamar, a wealthy but disillusioned young woman waiting for her father to join her. When her father's telegram cryptically mentions doctors' orders and a sudden delay, Rani becomes suspicious that something is wrong, though her father claims it's merely indigestion.

An exclusive guest ranch resort by the ocean in Southern California, with cottages, a swimming pool, private beach, and fine dining facilities.
