What happens

Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator, visits Mike Flynn at a Bowery rescue mission to check on his client who was shot the night before. Mike insists he's fine despite his wounds, but Johnny becomes suspicious when he learns that Mike recently took out a $50,000 life insurance policy through a wealthy man named Cosgrave who visits the mission. Johnny suspects Cosgrave may be trying to have Mike killed for the insurance money.
