What happens
Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator, looks into the shooting of Harvey Stone in New York City. Lieutenant Joe Rastelli holds Helen Barrett, Stone's fiancée, while Johnny doubts she is guilty. Johnny questions the Stone family, including Harvey's stepmother Daphne and his father E.J., who is confined to a wheelchair. He also looks into Daphne's past and her links to Dutch Krieger. Meanwhile, a man named Alvin Gentry comes to police with a confession that does not hold up. This is the third episode of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, broadcast on CBS Radio on September 19, 1956, with Bob Bailey in the lead role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
