What happens

Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator for North-East Indemnity, looks into a claim on the life of Harvey Stone, a young executive whose car windshield was shattered by a bullet on a country road. Harvey's father, E.J. Stone, is confined to a wheelchair, and his stepmother Daphne is only a few years older than Harvey. Johnny visits the Stone estate in Westchester County and hears conflicting accounts of family feelings about Harvey's engagement to nightclub singer Helen Barrett, as well as of a business dispute involving the gambler Dutch Krieger. The broadcast is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, starring Bob Bailey, and this episode first aired on CBS Radio on September 17, 1956.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
