What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar looks into a series of fires that have destroyed cash and save markets owned by John Wakefield Carson. The fires have struck one store after another, and each claim is large. Johnny suspects arson and travels to the scene of the latest blaze in Hartford, where he meets Margaret Carson and Walter Smith, the company's lawyer. He then follows the chain of stores to Salem, Massachusetts, looking for a pattern in the fires. The story is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar radio series, which was first broadcast on CBS Radio on May 4, 1958, with Bob Bailey in the title role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
