What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar travels to the small South Carolina town of Virtue to look into a string of thefts. Former gangster Joe Pickett-Tello, now an insurance agent, accompanies him. The victims are townspeople and residents of the nearby Caraway plantation, where a group of retired criminals has settled. Dollar meets the plantation men, who deny involvement and warn that a war with the townspeople could follow. He then confronts the mayor and police chief, Parley Caraway, about the situation. The series, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, aired on CBS Radio on April 27, 1958, and stars Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
