What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar searches for Lorraine Broderick to settle a $1,500 inheritance claim from a deceased man. Dollar and Deputy King discover she recently checked into a seaside inn under the name Bradley, where she met actor Joe Tappen. When they show Tappen her photograph, he's reluctant to believe she's the woman he knows, claiming she told him a tragic story about losing a young child and a failed marriage. The investigation reveals Lorraine has abandoned fourteen pieces of luggage at the Beverly Glen Hotel in Hollywood and disappeared after visiting a bar called The Topper.
