What happens

Johnny Dollar continues tracking Lorraine Broderick, a woman who disappeared from New York on Christmas Eve 1953 after abandoning an elderly man named William Damarin. Following a trail of bad checks and false names across multiple cities, Johnny discovers she's been working a con game at hotels, most recently checking into a Santa Barbara resort where she charmed guests and wrote fraudulent checks totaling over $800.

New York City, Connecticut, and Santa Barbara, California; includes filling stations, police headquarters, apartment buildings, and a resort hotel.

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Mr. Steel, William Damarin, Edward Quinlan, Pauline Damarin Woodfield, Mrs. Gaines, Tyler, Mr. Harrington

Listen for: The emerging pattern of Lorraine's con artistry as Johnny pieces together her movements through multiple identities and bad checks; the hotel manager's account of her arrival and charm.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
