What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar searches for Lorraine Broderick, a missing beneficiary owed $1,500 from a policy. He traces her from Hartford to New York, discovering she mysteriously disappeared on Christmas Eve 1952 from a car belonging to William Dameron, a wealthy businessman who had brought her to the city with marriage plans after knowing her only a week.
