What happens
Johnny Dollar takes on a case for Eastern Trust Insurance to locate Lorraine Broderick, the beneficiary of a $1,500 policy left by John Adams Smith, a newspaper vendor who died in a charity ward. Smith had met Lorraine when she was just eleven years old and took out the policies as a gesture of kindness, never seeing her again. Dollar traces Lorraine from her parents' death in 1948 through her time at St. Charles High School and her work as a dental assistant, but finding her current whereabouts proves difficult.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
