What happens

Paladin is hired as foreman of a railroad construction crew in Nevada, where a narrow-gauge track must be completed within three weeks to save the struggling town of Wilway. The project faces sabotage from Pat Casey, a tough freight hauler whose business would be ruined by the railroad's completion, and Paladin must contend with troubled workers and equipment failures as he races against the deadline.

Wilway, Nevada, 1875; a railroad construction camp and the town's saloon

Characters: Paladin, Hey Boy, Alan Hurley, Pat Casey, Vince, Casey (bartender)

Listen for: The whip trick that helps Paladin control a situation, and the revelation that the previous foreman was being paid off by Pat Casey to sabotage the work.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
