What happens

Paladin travels to Montana near the Little Big Horn after being hired by a woman whose son, Corporal Henry Carver, has run away with a girl named Becky. When a cavalry troop arrives at the waterhole where Paladin has hidden the fugitives, Paladin encounters his old acquaintance Captain John Keel, who is now serving under Custer. A civilian named Dolan is also with the troop, hunting the same young couple for his own purposes.
