Marshal Matt Dillon asks Kitty, the hostess at the Texas Trail Saloon, to accompany him to a benefit dance at the town hall for the new school. Kitty hesitates, worried about what proper society will think of a marshal escorting a saloon worker, but eventually agrees to attend with him.

Dodge City and the surrounding Kansas territory in the Old West

Characters: Matt Dillon, Kitty, Sam, Chester, Doc

Listen for: The developing relationship between Marshal Dillon and Kitty as he persuades her to attend the dance despite her concerns about town gossip and propriety.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
