What happens
The townspeople of Dodge City buzz with excitement when a new manager, Mamie, takes over the Long Horn saloon. She's a large, formidable woman from back East who immediately establishes herself as boss, but Marshal Dillon grows concerned when he discovers that the previous owner, Herman Bleeker, has suddenly left town without explanation.
Dodge City, the Long Horn saloon and surrounding streets
Characters: Matt Dillon, Chester, Doc, Mamie, Herman Bleeker
Listen for: The introduction of Mamie, the new tough-talking female saloon manager who wins over the rowdy patrons with her commanding presence and quick draw; also the mystery of Herman Bleeker's sudden disappearance and sale of the saloon.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
