What happens

J.B. Kendall, a frontier gentleman and correspondent, joins Marshal Boone May on an armed stage coach carrying fifty thousand dollars in gold through Dakota Territory. They expect to be ambushed by robbers, but the situation becomes complicated by the involvement of Belle Siddons, a clever and mysterious woman who runs a gambling establishment in Deadwood.
