What happens

War correspondent David Hartness arrives at Fort Laramie with press credentials from Major Daggett, eager to document life at the frontier post. During target practice, he overhears soldiers complaining about their outdated single-shot Springfield rifles while officers carry new Henry repeaters, and discovers that even some Indians are armed with the superior weapons. Captain Quince agrees to help Hartness understand the complexities of frontier military life during his month-long stay.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
