What happens
Red Horse, an aging Lakota chief, lies dying on the reservation and sends for his estranged son Snowfoot, a restless young brave of about fifteen winters who refuses to come to the reservation. Red Horse reflects on how he raised his son on hatred and bitterness toward white men, and now hopes to send word that Snowfoot must learn to think for himself. As Red Horse passes away, Captain Quinces and the fort's personnel await news of whether Snowfoot and his band of young warriors will respond to the summons, hoping to prevent them from turning to violence.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
