What happens

Dan Holiday receives an anonymous message instructing him to bid on an old Chinese teakwood box at a Mason auction. He arrives too late to bid, but follows a nervous man who purchases the box. After the man is struck by a car, a red-haired woman steals the box and flees in a taxi. Holiday tracks down the woman, Ruth Cornwall, and retrieves the mysterious box, only to have it taken from him at gunpoint in an alley.

A city with an auction house, apartment buildings, and streets

Characters: Dan Holiday, Susie, Ruth Cornwall

Listen for: The identity and contents of the teakwood box, and who is pursuing it

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
