What happens
Los Angeles Examiner reporter Jack Adams is chasing a counterfeiting ring that has flooded the city with phony half dollars. A ragged stranger named Snuffy approaches him with an offer to get him inside the operation, and Adams agrees to a meeting. Adams and Snuffy are taken to a flophouse and a gang leader called Knuckles, where Adams must pose as a buyer. The story is part of the Big Story series, broadcast in 1947, and it is performed by Dwight Wiest as Jack Adams.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
