What happens

Reporter James Fusco of the Columbus Citizen investigates the death of a young woman found with her throat cut near McKinley Avenue and Fisher Road. At the scene he finds a key ring missing one key, and he begins piecing together the victim's private life. Her roommate is evasive, but a lead points to a boyfriend, Lewis Jack, who is questioned and released. Fusco then follows a trail through a boarding house and a rifle range, turning up a man who calls himself Ed Smith. The episode is part of the Big Story series, with the broadcast dated June 4, 1947, and this portion ends with the investigation still underway.
