What happens
Barry Craig is hired by Adolf Beck to protect his wife while she shops for a hat in New York. When Mrs. Beck disappears from a boutique dressing room, Craig must track her down. Beck reveals his wife was once a nightclub singer named Lyla Lorne and was previously engaged to Eddie Myron, a nightclub owner, before they married—suggesting there may be dangerous connections from her past.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
