07from Berlin Wm.Shirer

This is Berlin, where will Shire? There's not much knows in Berlin tonight. The evening purpose per-up exclusively accounts to the big victories against Poland. If Britain and France are doing anything in this war, we certainly don't hear about it here.

Not a line in the press this evening about anybody saw French military action. At the evening press conference at the Billham's Glassway now, we were told nothing new from the West in front. information of any fighting there. To the east, a huge German army seemed to be rolling onward in this one-sided war. There are only 20 miles from Warsaw coming

from the north, so the press had not published this yet. The newspaper headlines are all about the same tonight. Here's one from the Nacht-El-Stabt, the biggest of the Aacnean papers. Quote, the rinse to the police corridor army destroyed. Art troops before torn and loads.

Vistablata Garrison surrenders. The vistablata of the small island of joining Dansi where the Poles had a few troops. I thought it surrended the first day. I remember the first day seeing photographs of it being bombarded by German worship.

But it held out until today, and the official German communique speaks to the heroic stand of the Polish garrison. Now I get the impression here in Berlin that the people have pretty well recovered from the first shock of Britain and France coming into this war.

People thought that with the Tobit Western powers in, they would see terrible air raids in Iraq. We've gone by, at least those in Berlin, as in neither enemy planes nor bombs nor even leaflets. No hair they heard anything about an attack on the West Front.
