The program scheduled for this time has been replaced with a special news broadcast. Now the National Broadcasting Company presents the noted news analyst, Mr. H.V. Carltonborne. Mr. Carltonborne. Good evening, everybody. Just a few last minute of spatches before we take you overseas.

London denies the German claim that Nazi planes damage two battleships. London admits the two cruisers received slight damage from bomb splinters. This is the first direct news we've had from British naval units engaged off the Norwegian coast. It suggests that ships are again using their radios to report to London.

Fred Bait has just told us not to expect news of the naval battle for several hours. Berlin reports that Bergen, Trondheim and Novik are definitely occupied. According to one report, Germany has sent thousands of troops to various points in Norway by transport airplanes, carrying thirty men each, artillery and other supplies were also dispatched by air according to this

report. The occupation of Oslo was achieved by some two thousand German troops that landed at most thirty-five miles down the coast. The thoughts outside of Oslo and the capital's anti-aircraft batteries went into action, but after having been said to have sunk one German battleship, they were taken over by the Germans.

The Germans piled into Denmark by armoured trains, ferries and warships, and were in all parts of the country this morning. One Danish warship and a few hundred Danish soldiers escaped to Sweden. The Germans concentrated their operations on the Baltic side of Denmark to avoid possible attack by British warships.

Only rumours from the Balkans, although Belgrade hears that Germany is pressing Romania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Hungary to accept a strict German guard along the entire length of the Danube. Thank you, Mr. Colton-born. Now, before going to the continent, perhaps there was a last-minute dispatch from the British capital. Let's have a report by NBC's correspondent in London.
