Irma and Kay Both Out of Jobs ( #171)

created by Sigh Howard with Mary Schiff as Kay and starring Marie Wilson as Irma. So a philosopher once said, a person without a friend is lost. Well my roommate Irma Peterson has a lot of friends and she still doesn't know where she is or how she got there.

You think I'm kidding? For the other day I was reading the paper and I came across something of interest. So I said, Irma, yes Kay, honey listen to this. Man 75 decides to go back to school to complete education.

75 years! Well, after being absent that long, you better have a good excuse for the teacher. He is the... Mr. Cline! What is it, Mr. Cline? You locked me in the closet. Let me out of here!

That man gets into more difficulty. You... You... Really, Mr. Cline? You think with all the work I have to do, you wouldn't interrupt me with all these small details. Details? Do you realize I could have smothered in there?

Why did you lock me in? You told me to keep the supply closet locked when I wasn't using it? Did you see me go in there? No, but I didn't know how long you were going to stay there, so I thought I'd better lock it now so I wouldn't forget to do it later.

Oh, you idiots! Now Mr. Clyde, I don't think that's a very nice way to talk to me. I'm sorry, madam idiot. Well, at least that's more polite. Now, if you don't mind, how about taking a little dictation?

Yes, sir. Shall I bring my short hand book along? No, bring a Victoria, we'll dance. Of course, get your short hand book. All right. Okay, go ahead. To the elite jury company, gentlemen, I'm sending over my wife's watch for your usual careful cleaning.
