What happens

On New Year's Eve in the sagebrush town of Thompson Corners, US Marshal Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles attend the big community dance. A quarrel breaks out between rival cattlemen Crusty Colton and Ted Brewer over Violet Cuddley, and a shot from outside sends the lawmen running. They find Crusty's foreman, Curly Drake, wounded in the snow. Curly reports that three outriders have vanished and that his herd is in danger of drifting onto a frozen lake. Hickok and Jingles ride out to save the cattle and then set out to find those responsible. The story is part of the Wild Bill Hickok series, which starred Guy Madison as Hickok and Andy Devine as Jingles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
