What happens
Marshal Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles are riding toward a county seat when they hear gunshots and come upon a stagecoach that has been robbed. A jewelry courier named Eric Van Doom reports that a valuable blue diamond, meant as a gift for a wealthy cattleman's wife, has been taken by two highwaymen. Bill and Jingles set off after the robbers, who lead them toward a ranch owned by Rutherford C. Pettigrew, whose prized pig is bound for a stock show. The pursuit turns into a tense chase that tests both lawmen.
The Old West, on rural roads and a ranch near a county seat, in a hard-riding frontier town setting.
Characters: Wild Bill Hickok, Jingles, Eric Van Doom, Rutherford C. Pettigrew, Badger, Mark
Listen for: Listen for the pursuit of the two robbers and the discovery of what they have done with the diamond.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
