What happens
Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles learn that the outlaw Rucker Set has tricked them into a deadly showdown at Gun Down Tunnel, a disused mine six miles from town. Set has planned for the two lawmen to shoot each other in the dark tunnel, and his scheme looks certain to succeed. Riding toward the mine, Hickok and Jingles discover that the town has been stripped of its money and left deserted after a gunfight. The Wild Western series ran on radio, and this episode aired on October 21, 1953, with Guy Madison as Hickok and Andy Devine as Jingles. The two men press on toward the tunnel, where the outlaws are waiting with their guns drawn.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
