What happens

Marshal Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles ride into Silver City, New Mexico, after a newspaper reports a run of stagecoach robberies with a gold shipment taken and two men killed. Posing as ordinary cowpokes to avoid recognition, they question the Wells Fargo agent, Sandy Ford, and examine the robbery scene, where they find tracks and clues pointing to a single bandit. The story is part of the Wild Bill Hickok radio series, with Guy Madison as Hickok and Andy Devine as Jingles, and this episode first aired on November 12, 1952. Their search leads them to a cabin and then to a suspect who claims to be the marshal himself.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
