What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles come upon a traveling medicine show run by Dr. Willoughby. When a crowd discovers that its valuables have vanished during a magic act, the wagon is found abandoned, and the lawmen set off in pursuit of the medicine show man who escaped with the goods. The story belongs to the Wild Bill Hickok radio series, with Guy Madison as Hickok and Andy Devine as Jingles, and this episode aired on January 8, 1954. Dr. Willoughby insists he was robbed too, and the two officers must sort out who is honest and who is not.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
