What happens

Inspector Harold Lowe and Detective Sergeant Sean Flannery of Scotland Yard investigate the death of a woman found strangled inside an old black trunk left at a London left-luggage office. A ticket found crumpled on the platform leads them to a second-hand shop in Brixton, where the trunk was sold. The police trace the woman's identity through laundry marks, interview witnesses who remember the trunk being carried by a bus conductor and a taxi driver, and examine a former housekeeper and a local estate agent named Arthur Cunningham. Inspector Lowe questions each person in turn while the detectives search the Rochester Row area where the trunk was taken.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
