What happens
Victor Gook arrives home at the small house on the next block and finds no one downstairs. His son Russell, speaking from upstairs, is waiting for Mom to return from shopping, and it is past four o'clock. Victor has invited a visitor, BB Ball, to supper, and the two of them and Russell talk about the evening meal and the household's food supplies. BB Ball has given Victor a song titled 'The Victor R. Gook Fontanelle,' and Victor shows it to Russell and tries to work out its melody. The scene is part of the Vic and Sade radio series, which first aired on October 11, 1943, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the leads.
The small house halfway up the next block, late afternoon, around four o'clock.
Characters: Victor R. Gook, Russell, BB Ball, Mom
Listen for: Victor's attempts to read the melody of BB Ball's song and his talk about Mom's return.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
